The Lawyer’s Association for Human Rights of Nepalese    Indigenous Peoples (LAHURNIP), Kathmandu organized one day interaction program titled ‘The IPs Rights in New Constitution Writing Process’ in Tansen, Palpa, Nepal on 14 Jan, 2011.
That the program was attended by more than 35 local and district level indigenous leaders from different IPs organizations. Lawyer Mr. Santosh Rana Magar, the head of human rights committee under the LAHURNIP from Kathmandu has facilitated the program. While he was taking on the overall rights of IPs-he emphasized on  to be written  IPs rights as guaranteed by national and international legal instruments like ILO No. 169, UNDRIP, CERD, CEDAW and many more which  ratified by the Nepal govt. so far.
The participants of program have expressed their views on why the IPs movement of Nepal is not being so effective also they alleged that the all IPs leaders of the Nepal are very much  political party minded as they have been working in different political parties of Nepal. They concluded that’s why IPs movement of Nepal is not being effective.
The participants including facilitator have agreed on to drag the IPs movement in effective way through empowering all indigenous peoples group of Nepal on their overall rights.  The local management of the program was done by the Indigenpus Peoples Mega Front Nepal,  District Chapter, Palpa chaired by Bal Bdr. Gaha Magar.
