KHAJURA: A public hearing program on ‘constitution drafting, peace process and minority issues’ was organised jointly by Radio Sagarmatha and Krishnasar FM at Nepalgunj on Wednesday.
Speaking at the program, Muslim leader Maimuna Siddique said the new Constitution should guarantee the rights of the Muslims, who now have a significant population in Nepal.
Siddique said the State has ignored the Muslim community in the provision of basic necessities like education and health.
Central Secretary of Nepal Federation of Indigenous Nationalities (NEFIN), Badri Kuchbadhiya complained that the DDC has discriminated in the distribution of monthly allowance given by the Government to the minorities and near-extinct communities.
Tharu leader Mangal Chaudhary said the fundamental issues of the Tharu community should be incorporated in the new Constitution.
